Airports

The region is serviced by two airports, one on Hamilton Island and one in Proserpine, which make the Whitsundays easily accessible. Depending on the airlines, you will be able to fly to and from any major Australian cities. 

Qantas and Virgin Blue operate in both airports. Jetstar only operates on Hamilton Island. Between those three companies, Virgin Blue serves the largest number of cities from and to the Whitsundays.

Airport transfers to your destination or your accommodation are well supplied. See the section ‘Transfers’.

For relatively shorter trips you can also fly with Air Whitsunday Seaplane.
The company has available transfers to and from Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Hamilton Island, Whitsunday Coast Airport, Whitsunday Airport, Hayman Island, Long Island, Club Med Lindeman Island and Brampton Island.
