Around 30 minutes from the pulsing heart of Brisbane, the friendly seaside villages of Moreton Bay offer everything necessary for a invigorating holiday.

The beach areas, surrounding esplanades and parks are ideal for swimming, water sports, walking and cycling. George Clayton Park boasts fantastic views of the Glass House Mountains and Deception Bay, and offers BBQ facilities,children's playgrounds and a multitude of bike paths and walk ways waiting to be explored.

If you're eager to get wet, Wynnum boasts a sheltered wading pool, Sandgate has a beachside swimming pool centre and Redcliffe has the spectacular Settlement Cove Lagoon complex.

If you'd prefer to take it easy, just secure a spot along the foreshore and enjoy the passing parade of watercraft cruising, sailing and fishing the pristine waters of Moreton Bay. Enjoy day trips from the Redcliffe Jetty, visiting the Bay Islands, whale watching or learning to dive. Enjoy a refreshing swim or just wet a line and enjoy a spot of fishing, watching the dolphins play and the lumbering pelicans socialize.

Adventurers will enjoy all the challenges that the bay offers: windsurfing, snorkeling, diving, waterskiing, joy flights and skydiving.

Redcliffe offers an array of historical and cultural activities including art galleries and a museum that features interactive exhibits. Explore Sandgate, a popular seaside destination since the late 1800’s, it’s past is reflected in the classic architectural style of it’s beautiful buildings such as the Town Hall, Post Office, Railway station and Sandgate Pier.

Enjoy the festivities at the monthly Sandgate Moonfest, the Redcliffe First Settlement Festival, the Clontarf Kitefest, and the Festival of Sails, celebrating the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.

  • Manly Harbour Village – an eclectic village-like shopping and dining destination
  • Historic Bancroft Baths - unusual structures carved out of bed rock by local resident Joseph Bancroft, after it was suggested that salt water would aid his wife’s malady
  • Railway Place and Pirate Place, Scarborough – themed playgrounds for the kids,  featuring massive cottonwood climbing trees
  • Take an adrenaline pumping joy flights or skydiving and enjoy fabulous views of Brisbane and the Glasshouse mountains
  • Redcliffe Museum featuring interactive exhibits
  • The Gayundah Coastal Arboretum - enjoy the displays of unusual rare plant species and the views to Moreton island
  • The ‘Gayundah’ warship, still working for her country as protection against beach erosion at Woody Point

  • The Einbunpin Lagoon, Sandgate, is a haven to tortoises and a myriad of birdlife
  • The environmental parklands of Deagon, Boondal and Tinchi Tamba and the Black Swamp wetlands
  • The Wynnum Mangrove Broadwalk has a storybook trail to follow which teaches the importance of the mangrove environment and its purpose in the area
  • Point Halloran Conservation Reserve and Eprapah Environmental Centre are both places to view koalas in the wild
