The Harbour Bridge

Once the largest arch bridge in the world, the Sydney Harbour Bridge straddles the harbour, connecting north and south Sydney.

Demanding full time maintenance in order to be protected from the evils of rust, the bridge can be walked or cycled for free, with south bound motor vehicles being charged a $2 toll.

A five minute walk from Cumberland Street in The Rocks, there is a lookout point (Open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm.), where you can climb up inside the bridge’s southern pylon, and look out over the harbour, as well as study an exhibition on the bridge’s history.

For a more comprehensive look at the bridge, culminating with a climb to the very peak, Sydney Bridge Climb take small groups to the top, and the most spectacular views of the city.
